"Confusion and chaos": The week that was in B.C. legislature

Rarely was there a week at & # 39; B.C. The dramatic than political history is not yet developed. For m & # 39; & # 39 x is clear, are the allegations which led to the clerk Craig James and to the sergeant at arms Gary Lenz were escorted by the legislature and placed on administrative leave.

The pair are being investigated by the RCMP and brought a pair of & # 39; special prosecutors. The office & # 39; Speaker has been investigating for months and now there are questions about whether they had a constitutional right to do so.

Monday, 19 & # 39; November, 8:00 p.m.: The leader of the NDP House Mike Farnworth, the Liberal House leader Mary Polak and Head of Green House Sonia Fürstenau Darryl Plecas met with the Speaker in his office. Tuesday, 20 & # 39; November, 1:29 p.m.: The RCMP spokesperson Janelle Shoihet confirm that the RCMP going "active investigation" but the Mounties are "f & # 39; position to provide any further details or specifications". Shoihet also mentions that the RCMP sought "the appointment & # 39; Special Prosecutor."

Tuesday, 20 & # 39; November, 2:12 p.m.: The B.C. Service Prosecution announce two special prosecutors, David Butcher and Brock Martland, have been appointed to provide "legal assistance and advice to the RCMP in the investigation relations in progress being made on activities & # 39; senior staff British Columbia "-Legiżlatura.
