150 billion francs mobilized to finance the revival of tourism, recalls Alioune Sarr


Pointe-Sarène (Mbour), 15 October (APS) – The State of Senegal has mobilized more than 150 billion francs to finance the revival of tourism and the resilience of the sector to the effects of Covid-19 pandemic, recalled the Minister of Tourism and Air Transport.

“In total, it is a global amount of more than 150 billion that the Senegalese government will be mobilized to support and support companies in the tourism and air transport sectors between 2020 and 2021. , “said Alioune Sarr during a visit to the new seaside resort of Pointe Sarène, in the department of Mbour (west).

The Minister for Tourism and Air Transport had come to inquire about the progress of the construction of a hotel.

Returning to measures to support the tourism and air transport sector, he cited, among other things, the reopening of borders accompanied by hotel and tourist credit as well as air transport for a total amount of 75 billion CFAF.

Alioune Sarr also mentioned fiscal measures by postponing the payment of VAT to companies in the sector in addition to the suspension of taxes and duties on companies in the sector by the end of 2021.

The Minister of Tourism and Air Transport said the State has also mobilized a package of 82 billion CFA francs, in 2020, for the working capital needs of companies and subsidies to public entities in the sector.
