Mortality rate has risen in Ukraine - State Statistics Service

41 408 239 people live in Ukraine

Since the beginning of the year, almost 300 thousand people have died in Ukraine, ie almost 60 thousand more deaths than in the same period in 2020.

In Ukraine, the mortality rate increased from January to May 2021. It exceeded the 2020 level by 25%. This is reported by the State Statistics Service.

Since the beginning of the year, 299,964 people have died in the country. That is 59,997 more deaths than the first five months of 2020. Then 239,967 people died.

Since the beginning of 2021, 109,626 people have been born in Ukraine, while last year, during the same period, 115,968 people were born.

The increase in migration in 2021 amounted to 10,223 people (in 2020 – 7,341).

As noted in the State Statistics Service, as of May 1, 2021, 41,408,239 people live in Ukraine. Since the beginning of 2021, the population has decreased by 180,115 people.

Recall, Bloomberg mentioned one of the leading causes of death of Americans. In the United States, the leading causes of death are cardiovascular and oncological diseases, as well as coronavirus.
